Small Bandages on Large Wounds

****

A tiny bandaid
the open jugular bleeds
psychotherapy

****

Lexapro, Prozac, Lithium, Buspar
Freedom, Mania, Death and Despair
Natural Remedies
Count your blessings
Say a prayer
Get off your ass
Stop feeling sorry for yourself
Others are worse off
Get out there and help

****

Sometimes, a swift kick in the pants is more effective than sympathy. Other times, it's just a pain in the butt and wrinkles the clothes.

Indeed. The longer we live, the more shit-storms seem to swirl our way. Just gotta wade through them and hope there's a break in the weather on the other side.

Yep. I'm going to try to make this the last of my self-indulgent posts. :)

It's just where I was about nine o'clock this morning. Right now, I'm telling myself to get over it and move on. :)

I think we're all allowed to wallow once in awhile, it's just making a habit of it that's a problem.

Funny, how life can twist and bite, huh? Funny, indeed.

Sqt, I'm trying to kick the habit. :)

Yeah, unfortunately, not always funny-ha-ha, Lucas. :) Of course, when there's a down, there's also an up and vice-versa. I'm trying to cruise back up to the middle ground. :)

I was thinking just today about this person I know who is constantly creating false drama, and I thought, if he'd had any real drama in his life he'd probably be sick of it and ready for some peace and quiet.

I have chronic dry skin. What does this have to do with today's topic, you say?

Well, I happened to glance at my right hand today and all of my knuckles were split and bleeding. And I thought...hmmmm...I can either cut my hand off and be done with this split knuckle bullshit, or I can put some medicated lotion on the dry skin, start drinking more water, and pay better attention to my nutrition so this doesn't keep happening.

I guess sometimes we just need to figure out the worse alternative and act accordingly to avoid it.

The first poem was so funny! I love when things make me laugh. It was very sarcastic and rather dark.

Look how many of us connect with this, Kate. It's human, isn't it? And I think that it's nice to come here and connect with someone who is being real. What you call self indulgent posts are honest glimpses into your life. I adore your honesty and your struggle, your wins and your seeming defeats because you're not putting on a show for me. Just tell like it is, honey, because sometimes it just is that way and sometimes it isn't. No right or wrong. Just write.

Charles, Travis, Christina, Steve and Susan - thank you all for your kind and helpful words. I actually got up this morning with the idea of deleting this entire post, but I guess I'll go ahead and leave it.
