Well, I got my first pre-release review today.
Even though I was a little huffy about the UK article that referred to paranormal romance as "para porn", I will freely admit that in my case--with this story--it sorta fits. And I make no apologies. *g*
Here's the link if you'd like to read it. Masquerade 3 Review
It was a little embarrassing, though, because my daughter and one of her friends were standing over my shoulder when I read it. I wasn't expecting the explicit references to the story as they were laid out, so you can imagine my horror when they started screaming "Oh my god, MOM! You wrote about a threesome?!"
Oh, well. Cat's out of the bag now. Yikes. I suppose I can expect a visit from child welfare any day now.

Oh, I can't imagine who was more mortified, you or your daughter. I remember how easily my mom could embarrass me as a kid. She thought it was hilarious.
Steaming hot..you go, girl!
My theory is that if we keep our kids off balance a bit then it helps to keep them out of trouble. Embarrass them? It is our right and duty as old people that are "totally uncool". In fact, I think saying "totally uncool" dates me and makes me just that.
Congratulations, Kate.
Wow, that's some nice "read hither" wording. Congrats.
SQT - as a mother of a teen, I consider it my duty to embarrass her. :) OTOH, it was pretty mortifying for me, too, that time. Payback, I suppose.
SUSAN - Thanks, and good theory. :)
CHARLES - "Read hither?" LOL! Thanks. :)
That's like, SO totally hot?
LOL, Steve.
They didn't see it that way. Her friend exclaimed (after a loud gasp) "You're a porn person?"
My daughter said, "You shouldn't even know what a threesome is!"
Hmmm.... she's 14, I'm 43. What's wrong with that picture?
Sorry, but that's hilarious. I think it would be more emarrassing for me if my kid saw that than it would be for the kid. Although she's probably really embarrassed that her friend knows. But just think, in a few years you'll be "cool" and they'll come to you for tips.
Come to me for tips?! That's an even more horrifying thought! lol
That's great! You'll note I'm using an explnation point, as discussed on Charles' blog. I believe in this case it is warranted.
LOL - thanks, Sidney. I'm touched you'd bend the rules that way. *g*
